Upgrading programs in Windows Vista© to Administrator
 
 

Problem: You receive errors in Scanware programs when using Windows Vista with UAC (User Access Control) turned on.

Reason: Although your user account on Vista has administrative privileges, all programs will still be run with basic user privileges.

Solution: Use this Step-By-Step Guide to configure the shortcut for any of our applications as Administrator. This option allows you to run this shortcut as an administrator, while protecting your computer from unauthorized activity.
 
Right-Click on the application shortcut (Scanware places all shortcuts on the desktop unless the user changed their location)

Left-Click Properties on the popup menu.
 
On the Shortcut tab:

Click the Advanced... button
 
Check the Run as administrator checkbox.

Click the OK button.
